Your Key to Accomplishments

If you want a more positive and productive life direction, you must learn to motivate yourself and most importantly, to keep your motivation going.

Motivation is the crucial skill of achievers; a powerful driving force that induces you to do what you must do with the intention to reach a specific goal. For this purpose, the first element to become motivated is a definite goal based on a strong desire. This will not only ignite the motivation, but keep it going when you find challenges on your way.

As you know, it is much easier to become motivated if you feel passionate about your goal. The opportunity must present an exciting challenge that will get you focused on your tasks until you get what you want.

Some claim that motivation is extrinsic. This means that a meaningful goal will ignite the motivation; whatever you want to achieve is ‘out there’ which becomes the external stimuli, much like a carrot on a stick scenario. Others think that the motivation is intrinsic, that it should come from within or it won’t last.

In my opinion one cannot exist without the other. To develop intrinsic motivation, you must have an extrinsic factor that motivates you and vice-versa. One feeds on the other, so to say. On top of that, the passion to achieve your goal becomes your “why” – your powerful reason that has a special meaning to you and the one you will commit to remember every time you feel your motivation is dwindling down. Are you with me so far?

Think of it this way… you have the goal of driving a car from point “A” to point “B.” The motivation is that you will get something of value to you when you get to point “B” – for the purpose of this example, we’ll call it a trophy. So you jump in the car with that definite goal: getting to point “B” and get your trophy. You turn the ignition key with that purpose in mind. The trophy is at the end of your journey. The trophy is your extrinsic factor.

Your initial motivation prompts you to jump start the engine. It keeps its momentum going by your accelerating and getting closer to point “B” as time goes by. You are following a well planned and specific road map; however, you find some challenges on the road; i.e. there are no gas stations, you get tired and sleepy, you get a flat, etc. All of a sudden you feel like giving up. Then, you remember your “why”… you think of how long you’ve wanted this trophy, you want it so bad that no matter what, you will find the way to overcome the challenges and get to point “B.” This “why” is your intrinsic factor.

In other words, you must define what inspires and moves you deeply to achieve a certain thing. This thing is your extrinsic motivation, and will help you jump start your motivation engine to initiate the work to achieve your goal. When you get distracted or procrastinate or get unmotivated for whatever reason, you will remember what inspired you in the first place which will keep the momentum going (intrinsic motivation.)  This will eventually culminate in fulfillment, happiness and satisfaction. It will also raise your self-confidence and motivate you to achieve new goals.

This would happen once and again in an ideal world, of course. Unfortunately, we are not perfect so we are bound to feel lack of motivation sometimes. Even someone who is normally very motivated can have difficulty getting started on an important task at times. So… is there a solution for this?

Absolutely! There are probably dozens of them. The following are some of the best motivation tips that will consistently work when you apply them. Give them a try!

Self Motivation Tips That Work!

1. Share your plans. Let’s say that you are a writer and have had writer’s block for the past few days. To get the ideas flowing, talk to someone you trust about your next writing project. This will surely ignite your motivation, get you out of the slump and back at the keyboard. For less inspiring tasks, share with a trustworthy friend the larger goals that your smaller tasks will help you achieve. (A note of caution: do not share freely with everyone. They can try to talk you out of achieving your goals.)

2. Train yourself as a sales person. A good salesman or saleswoman can sell ice cream in the North Pole or 3-piece suits in the Sahara desert. As much as we don’t like to admit it, we all are sort of sales people. Think about this… when you are talking to a potential employer, you are selling yourself and your abilities. When you want to go to a certain movie, you are selling the idea to your spouse. Learn to be your own salesman or saleswoman by talking to yourself about how your life will be amazing once you achieve your goal.

3. Stimulate your own pain. As Tony Robbins says, we all perform based on pain and pleasure. One Neuro-Linguistic Programming technique that he suggests is to mentally link pain with not acting. It’s something similar to finally stopping the snooze button on the alarm clock to get up or you will lose your job. In that same fashion, imagine the consequences if you don’t do what you must do.

4. Find an intrinsic value in your mundane task. Sometimes we must put up with smaller, less exciting tasks in order to get to the goal we want to achieve. For instance, you may not like all the preparations that go on before you embark on a camping trip, but the reward of getting to bathe on amazing waterfalls and taking pictures of wildlife is well worth the effort. Always think of your greater goal when you are doing boring tasks or things you dislike.

5. Boost your energy. For self-motivation, you need energy. Exercising, sleeping well and eating a good diet will help boost your energy levels. Avoid sugary foods as they may result in ups and downs of stamina. Moderate caffeine as well. Perhaps a protein shake may do the trick too. Once you find energy boosters that work for you, make a list and keep it handy for future use.

6. Take small steps. As with anything in life, constancy is better than huge amounts of sporadic dedication to something. I’ve found that if I commit to writing half an hour per day is way more productive in the long run than if I just write for 3 to 5 hours once per week. Also remember to break large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones. One small step at a time, you will accomplish great things!

These motivation tips truly work; however, the paradox is that you must also get motivated to do them… which brings us back full circle to the beginning of this article… if your “why” is big enough, it it carries an important meaning to you, I believe you will find the motivation to do whatever it takes to achieve your goal.

In any case, if you were motivated enough to read this far, I’m sure I can congratulate you. You’ll be fine. Just stick to it no matter what. Oh, I almost forgot… humor is also very important.  Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all needs breaks every now and then. A good laugh can overcome that feeling of being overwhelmed that sucks away your energy and your self motivation.

The Best Medicine!

We have all heard it at one time or another… “Laughter is the Best Medicine“, and most of us would completely agree with this statement.

However, when life gets tough and things are not going our way, laughter doesn’t come easy… even when we are presented with details, jokes, or situations that have made us laugh out loud in the past; and paradoxically, it is precisely in those moments when we need to laugh out loud the most.

In general, we are becoming too serious about life. That shouldn’t come as a surprise if we consider the turmoil of today’s world. It seems that wherever we go we find people who are tired, discouraged, stressed, disheartened, worried, and concerned. In extreme instances some of them go through life feeling hopeless and helpless, which is not only sad but extremely dangerous for their physical, emotional, and mental health.

Several studies have shown that when people focus often on the negative side of life and don’t laugh regularly, they become prone to depression; and it is well known that a depressed person tends to see reality in a distorted way, which will only feed the depression further.

The good news is that laughter is the best medicine to help prevent or break this vicious cycle. We can learn to take life less seriously and we can also learn to laugh at ourselves and at the silly events around us. Truth is, if we pay attention, we’ll discover that life offers us plenty of opportunities for us to laugh big!

Here are a few benefits you get when you laugh often…

  • Physical health
Several studies have shown that laughter reduces blood pressure, boosts the immune system, relaxes tight muscles, and reduces incidence of chronic diseases. Also, some studies suggest that people who laugh often live longer and age healthier as compared to those who worry too much.As a matter of fact, every time we laugh our brains produce endorphins. These natural hormones have the power to modify the axon of nerve cells which not only stimulate mood, but counteract the effects of stress, and help control pain and hunger.
Laughter also offers us an opportunity for personal growth as we move through life feeling uplifted and encouraged. Dr. Andrew Weil, America’s foremost practitioner of integrative medicine, recently recommended active participation in Laughter Yoga, an exercise routine for complete well-being, as a way to heal and improve a variety of physical symptoms…But, if you thought that was not enough… laughter also keeps our facial expression youthful because it’s like exercise for the face! Good news is, anybody can practice laughter yoga to awaken the joy within naturally and improve the quality of their life!
  • Motivation and Inspiration
Adopting a good sense of humor and laughing often can give you the extra push when the going gets tough. If you have ever tried to become inspired and motivated while feeling down, you know how close to impossible that is. While we all have challenges in life at one point or another, the ability to laugh can provide us with the needed positive outlook that makes the difference between overcoming the challenge successfully or not.
  • Interpersonal Relationships
Laughter makes us more attractive to others. It’s fun to be around people with a good sense of humor and an uplifting personality, wouldn’t you agree? If you have ever tried to strike a conversation with a straight face versus a smiley one you’ve experienced this first hand!
  • Mind Power and Learning
When you laugh, you perceive your reality more optimistically; you are able to see more possibilities which translate to more probabilities no matter what situation you may be facing. It is as if your mind becomes more powerful, more open.Compare this to trying to solve a problem from a gloom and doom starting point… Moreover, when you are happy, you will learn better. Practice humor when studying, and you will retain the information easier. It works. Give it a try!
  • Positive Energy
Much has been talked about how to manifest what we want in life, and attracting ‘like’ vibrations is one of the main points discussed by masters and gurus alike. It is all about energy – you’ve heard this many times over, I’m sure. Thus, one of the main ways to attract what we want is by creating and maintaining a high vibration or positive energy… and laughter helps enhance and grow your vibrational energy too!

It’s true. Life has many challenges, and while we cannot control every single thing that happens to us, we have full control on how we react to different situations. More importantly, there are always choices, and we do have control over those choices. We can choose how to react to what happens and we can also choose to take life more lightly, and explore what choices we have to resolve the situation. We can also choose to find humor in our daily lives, and we can choose to laugh more often. So… Choose wisely!

In closing, it is true that laughter comes easier to some people; however, it is very possible for all of us to develop a “funny bone” and allow a unique sense of humor to emerge. We can all learn to be funny, witty,  and charming while reaping the benefits of a great laugh! Where to start? – you might be wondering… How about learning how to become the laugh of the party? Awakening Your Sixth Sense

Intuition… we’ve all experienced it. All of a sudden and out of the blue, we get a certain feeling and somehow we know that something has happened or that is going to happen… only to find out later on that our premonition or suspicion had been correct…

And how about when we meet a person for the first time and we experience feelings that have no real justification? Sometimes we immediately feel connected to them, and some others we feel a negative vibe. All of this happens in an instant, bypassing our conscious awareness and five known senses.

Intuition refers to the act of knowing that something has happened or will happen without the usual feedback mechanisms such as reason, feedback, logic, and without resourcing to the use of the senses from which other knowings usually and normally emerge. It is also called  the sixth sense and some link it to paranormal phenomena, and extrasensory perception or ESP.

Intuition can be experienced through three defined channels: clairvoyance, clairaudience, and/or sensing clearly. Let’s talk about each one of these occurrences.

Clairvoyance is a French word that means seeing clearly.’ It is described as the ability to gain information about an event, a person, a location, and even an object, through extra sensory perception meaning, seeing without using the eyes or the sense of sight.  Instead, it is when the inner eye –also called ‘the third eye’– is at work seeing what the eyes cannot perceive.

Clairaudience, also a French word, it means ‘hearing clearly,’ and it refers to the knowing, perceiving, or attaining information through extra sensory means, in this case a feeling through listening which goes beyond the auditory sense. This can happen when a person ‘hears’ something that is not perceivable through normal audition, listening to something not being explicitly stated or listening to an inner voice. This kind of intuition can also happen when a certain sound brings up an intense feeling, such as a bird twitting or even a never before heard song. Some clairaudient people claim that they hear spirit guides or receive communication from other entities.

Both, clairvoyance and clairaudience are considered paranormal activities that certain people with special psychic abilities posses. Some believe these are innate aptitudes that cannot be learned, while others believe we all have the ability to learn and use them.

The third and most common form of intuition is ‘sensing clearly.’  We refer to this experience as having a hunch or gut feeling. This is the time when we feel overwhelmed with a feeling that is hard to explain. The feeling can go from uncomfortable to distressing. Some mothers have described ‘feeling’ something has happened to their child who lives far away. All they can say with complete certainty is… “Don’t ask me how. I just know.”

It has been said that only some people are gifted with intuition. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive. Others say that this ‘sixth sense’ can sometimes be so powerful, it almost borders on ESP. However, recent studies suggest that we all are born with this gift and that we just need to learn to develop it.

And why would you need to develop intuition? -you may ask. Why not let our emotional and psychological state as it is?

There are clear advantages to developing your intuition. To start, intuition promotes good communication, empathy and compassion. It makes us more sensitive to the needs of people around us and can keep us from hurting those we love. When you sense the feelings of your loved ones, you understand them better which leads to better relationships. You’d be surprised to learn how many people are oblivious to this!

A good sense of intuition also promotes creativity and expands the means for expression. Moreover, intuition allows you to awaken a healing power which goes beyond logic and even diagnosis. An example of this could be when a physician recommends a medication for a certain condition but something inside tells you not to take it, only to discover later that the side effects could have complicated the condition even further.

Intuition can also help you delve deep into your soul to eradicate hidden negative energy that may be affecting your physical and emotional health. It can give you cues as to how to heal yourself and what changes to make in order to live a healthier and happier life.

Having learned this… are you ready to awaken your intuition? Utilize these seven ways to develop your precious gift.

  • Hypnosis
Hypnosis can help develop intuition because it strengthens the connection with your inner guidance. You can access your intuition easier while being in an altered state of consciousness.  The good news is that having good results with hypnosis is not limited to visiting a hypnotherapist and watching a pendulum move back and forth. With dedication and patience, performing self-hypnosis through an hypnotic program works and can help you develop your intuition.
  • Meditation
Meditation helps you relax the mind and leads to finding the peace within. When you have a busy lifestyle, your mind is cluttered with too many things. In this state, it is more challenging to quiet the mind long enough to listen to your inner voice or feel your inner state. This is not conducive to awaken your intuition.Fortunately, there are many ways to start a practice of meditation. You can take a yoga or Tai-Chi class, or simply dedicate regular time to deep and rhythmic breathing that can lead you straight to Zen.  There are a variety of audios to help you do this. If you want to learn how to meditate deeper than a Zen Monk, click here.
  • Think Positive
A worry-free, fear-free state can do so much to improve the quality of your life as well as your intuitive ability. By staying positive, your vibrations are high. This attracts good energy that allows you to easily recognize imminent feelings and events that differ from the norm. Your intuitive ability is directly linked to the state of your soul and mind.
  • Let Go
When you are in a situation in which you need to make an important decision, you must let go of all thoughts, worries, and concerns to allow your intuition to surface and guide you.To do this, go to a quiet place where you can be in peace for a few moments. Sit comfortably or lie down and take a few deep breaths. Pay attention to your breathing without attempting to control or direct it. Just let it happen naturally and feel the air going in and out of your lungs. By focusing on your breath, the mind gets away of the usual state of jumping from one thought to another without control. We call this the monkey mind.
From this state, shift your focus inwards and try to listen to the voice within. Ask your inner guidance what to do in reference to your situation… let go and relax. Go back to focusing on your breath and just be. Your inner voice will come out once you let go of all attachments and possible outcomes. You will know what’s best once the solutions start popping in. One of them will just ‘feel right.’

  • Get Out of Your Own Way
In all fairness, letting go in this fashion can be challenging at times, especially when the monkey mind has not been trained long enough and when you need a solution sooner rather than later. Thus, you may have to do the above mentioned exercise several times before you are able to clearly feel or hear your inner voice of intuition. One way to do this is to go out and do something different right after you relaxed as described above. Allow yourself to get distracted from the situation you are trying to solve or decide upon. Do not expect an immediate answer. Usually, intuition doesn’t work like that.  A hunch seldom falls on your lap immediately. Give it a little time and when you least expect it, the answer will come. Just remain attentive and you’ll recognize it.
  • Trust Your First Impressions
When you meet a person for the first time and you immediately get the feeling that he is not being transparent about what he says, or is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that your fist impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition. You’ll later have an opportunity to verify (or not) your hunch. The more this happens, the more you will learn to trust your intuition. Be careful not to confuse intuition with prejudgment though. The former relates to a feeling, the later is based on opinion and reason.
  • Be Happy
Intuition and happiness go hand in hand. This is because happiness promotes personal power and such power includes intuition. Thus, when you are happy your mind is not cluttered with problems and challenges, so you can tap into your intuition much easier and faster.Let’s also consider that many lives have been saved by intuition alone. Such is the case of the person who feels like going home walking rather than taking the bus as he usually does, only to later discover that the bus had been in an accident. I’m sure you’ve heard similar stories yourself. I invite you to learn now Tom Justin saved his life by not boarding flight 182, here.

Developing your intuition is very helpful because it leads you to getting the right answers that you couldn’t have come up with otherwise. Having said that, it is my belief that we all can learn to develop our intuition and use it to our advantage… will you choose the path of intuition yourself?

Intuition is a gift that you already posses. You will be able to make better decisions when you develop and practice listening to your inner guidance. Dedicate some time to expand your intuition and reap benefits you have never imagined. When you learn to trust your intuition, it becomes your best ally.

Giving and Receiving

Giving and Receiving

Creating a Cycle For Abundance

To better understand the giving and receiving cycle, let’s assess some ideas and beliefs related to money and possessions. Let us start by clarifying the function of money.

Back in the old days, before the concept of money* was even conceived, people use to transact by bartering. Arrangements such as ‘my goods in exchange for your goods’ worked fine for a while. People back then were both, giving and receiving. However, as civilization evolved and more goods and services became available, a new problem surfaced…

What if I wanted your tangerines but you were not interested in what I could give you in exchange? This is why the invention of coins and paper money (or notes) became a must to help solve this dilemma. As time passed, money became the known universal tool for exchanging commodities and services of all kinds.

By the way, when we understand the real function of money, the idea that money is the root of all evil becomes unsustainable. Truth is, money is a necessity, a collective tool used to exchange goods and services. And, this exchange helps us all prosper accordingly.

Money, Beliefs and Spirituality

Many of us grew up with the belief that monetary abundance and spirituality cannot coexist. This idea creates a divided state of mind; a broken giving and receiving cycle which makes it difficult to achieve our financial goals. On one side, our conscious mind desires to free us from financial worries. On the other, our subconscious mind vows to keep us faithfully connected to our spiritual being and the things we learned as we grew up.

However, spirituality and monetary wealth should not be mutually exclusive. Money is a source of energy that must exchange hands in order to create balance and prosperity (more on this in a bit). Keeping money with the sole purpose of accumulating it, will only create an imbalance, such as when we place more weight on one side of a scale.

Money is like a powerful key that can open many doors; and like a key, it is neither positive nor negative by itself. We get to decide what doors to open. We decide what values we place on money based on how we acquire it and how we use it. In this regard, to state that ‘money is the root of all evil’ is a fallacy. Money is just a tool, and every one of us decides how to use it.

This can be easily understood. However, one important aspect that further influences the values we place on money lay on our belief system. It is that belief that creates the subconscious associations between money, values, and morals. And this is where many people have blocks that impede the creation of abundance.

Realize that our beliefs are not based in absolute universal truth. Truth differs from one person to another according to personal conditioning and life events. In other words, truth is contingent to the person that experiences it. This is why some have much while others don’t. In many occasions you will notice that financial abundance is not related to education or a genius mind, but to belief systems that regulate the lives and outcomes of those who create abundance.

Therefore, the way we interact with money and the way we use money reflects our thoughts and ideas according to our lifetime beliefs, which are most likely different to those of others. The good news is that beliefs are not set in stone. They are quite malleable. We can get rid of beliefs that don’t serve us any longer and substitute them with beliefs that are in favor of our prosperity. Think about this…

You can make a dollar by providing a useful service or you can make a dollar selling worthless gadgets. Along those same lines, you can use the exact same dollar you earned to help a homeless person or to acquire something solely for selfish reasons.

It’s the same dollar, but it is all a matter of choice. Your choice. What are your beliefs in reference to earning and using money after having read these prior statements? Based on this, what beliefs will you choose to implant in your mind?

Yes, money provides us with the means to obtain the bare necessities to live, such as food, clothing and a roof over our heads, but it also gives us the ability to contribute to a worthy cause; thus, money also grants us with peace of mind, an essential state to live a spiritual and abundant life.

Daydream a bit. Start by thinking of all the good things you could do with an abundance of money. Become convinced of your being able to do ‘good with money’ because this is what you choose to believe and what you want choose to do.

Realize that you are choosing this path based on free will. This is the first step towards understanding that having money in abundance and living a spiritual life can indeed happen simultaneously.

Let’s wrap up these last thoughts… if money is a symbol of energy used for exchange, when we exchange money related to something of value, we participate in the movement of positive energy as we initiate a “giving and receiving” cycle which prospers others as we prosper ourselves. The result is that we all flourish together. Some spiritual masters fall this ‘going with the flow.’ Let’s also remember that it is up to each one of us to decide how to use that money as well as what meaning we give to it.

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait
a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

~ Anne Frank

The Dynamics of Giving and Receiving

At the core level, most of us feel better when money comes in that when it goes out. Paradoxically, in our day to day endeavors we feel much better when we give than when we receive. This is because most of us were taught from an early age that it is more gracious to give than to receive. In some instances, these teachings could go as far as to make us believe that receiving is linked to selfishness.

This creates an internal conflict and produces blocks at the subconscious level which may obstruct our prospering. Moreover, we cannot go through life just giving. Eventually, we’d end up feeling empty… Thus, the only way to create abundance in life is by regulating the dynamics of giving and receiving on both ends: the conscious and subconscious levels. When we gain balance, we create abundance and prosperity in our lives and the lives of those around us. The giving and receiving cycle can flow eternally, indeed.

The following analogy will help clarify this. Every time a farmer sows a seed, he is starting the giving and receiving cycle.

The farmer is actually giving a seed to Mother Nature with the full expectation to receive something in return. Next, he cultivates the crop and reaps the harvest.

He has given and knows he will receive. Mother Nature gives back the fruit which places the farmer at the receiving end of the equation. Then he starts all over again with the intention to receive during the next harvest season. This is how he participates in and enjoys the giving and receiving cycle, the natural balance of life just as Planet Earth rotates to give us day and night.

The previous scenario brings up another important point. To start receiving we must first give. It is up to us to initiate the giving and receiving cycle. And once we give we ought to receive. It all depends on the seed we plant.

Nobody will sow a seed expecting to reap no harvest, and this is no different for you and me in reference to money. Truth is, the same goes for everything else in life. When we sow love we receive affection, when we sow work we receive pay, when we sow kindness we receive empathy, when we sow peace we receive tranquility…

This contributes to the Universal Balance just like balance exists through opposites such as hot and cold, light and darkness, laughter and sadness, up and down, health and disease, and so forth… Hence, giving and receiving are both parts of the same equation. The act of giving and receiving creates a cycle and a healthy balance at the same time.

The Chinese philosophy called Tao Te Ching by Lao Tsu written during the 3rd Century BC, explains how all energies in the world are balanced in equal measure. We can find the same balance in the Ying Yan symbol. As such, the act of giving and receiving initiates an exchange of energy that grants the balance needed for the financial cycle to flow effortlessly from hand to hand.

It is when things get out of balance that we get to experience disharmony, discord, conflict, lack and limitation, amongst other unwanted effects. Giving and receiving is a two way street!

The Importance of Attitude in the Giving and Receiving Cycle

As with every other thing in life, attitude is everything. When you give, always remember to place a feeling of joy in whatever it is you are giving. Make sure you know without a shadow of a doubt that you will soon receive accordingly as you have initiated the “sow-reap” cycle.

As you give, you become the instrument that conveys positive energy. In turn, you will receive more of the same. The following mantra (taken from the “Commonwealth” personal development training) resonates perfectly with the above premise.

Repeat it in silence while you are giving…

“My prosperity prospers others. Their prosperity prospers me.”

There are always plenty of causes or people you can help according to your possibilities. The important thing is not the amount, but how you give. Make sure you give from the heart and with conviction.  The rest will fall into place consequently.

“The Universe operates through dynamic exchange…giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.”

 ~ Deepak Chopra

* A couple of interesting historical facts related to money:
The first records of money use date back to 1200 BC in Southern Algeria, and the coins were called shekels. Also, the word money comes from “Moneta”, the Roman Goddess of Prosperity; a Latin word that translates as moneda or coin in Spanish.

Wealth Consciousness

Wealth Consciousness

The Meaning of Money

Life has an interesting way of giving back to us what we put out. It always seems that the kind of energy we radiate as we go through our day to day activities, inherently impacts the results we get from our relationships, business ventures and personal undertakings.

Some call this Karma. Others call it Sowing and Reaping, the Law of Cause and Effect, or the Law of Attraction. Whatever title you give to this, the meaning is the same. You do X and receive Y… every single time.

This is especially true when we talk about making money. Many people wonder why they can’t seem to reap the financial rewards of their labor, even after sweating and toiling for several years.

The answer to this is the presence  of a certain lack that has nothing to do with money, but the lack of a proper mindset, that of  wealth consciousness.

Thus, regardless of how hard they work or for how many hours a day, they keep on attracting according to their ‘poverty’ mindset. They don’t realize that they are the cause and the lack is their effect. They get this automatically and as a result of an unconscious belief.

The truth of the matter is that until we understand the true meaning of money and wealth, and accept the fact that we are meant to live in abundance of all kinds, money being one of them, we will continue to be in the position to create just enough to survive! Here are a couple of premises for you to consider…

First, you must acknowledge that you are destined to live in wealth simply because you are a valuable and worthwhile individual. You are unique and as such you have significant and distinctive experiences, gifts and talents that you can share with the world. When you give of yourself to others you are entitled to wealth as you are contributing to the betterment of others and of the planet as a whole. Thus, the first thing is to work on acknowledging your self-worth and what you can offer to people, society and the world.

Then, you must break away from the belief that money is what makes you wealthy, when in reality it is just a symbol of exchange and just one of many representations of wealth. In other words, to be truly wealthy means much more than having lots of money. To better understand this, let’s take a look at the personal story of Gary Heavin, co-founder of the women-only gym, Curves International.

You may or may not know this but Gary Heavin lost all of his money and filed for bankruptcy only to recover and climb to the top again

Wonder why?

Aside from the fact that smart people learn from mistakes, the main point shouldn’t come as a surprise at all: Mr. Heavin never lost his wealth consciousness, he just lost his money… temporarily!

Now, let’s recognize that money is not everything in life. Money is just one expression of true wealth, and Gary Heavin’s story is just one example of this.

Realize that when you acquire a wealth consciousness you will never live in actual lack and limitation even when you encounter a few bumps on the road of your life, because you will have acquired the experience, and when combined with your self-confidence, and the proper mindset for wealth, you’ll be able to rectify the direction of your path and build material wealth yet again.

In short, wealth consciousness is a mindset, and one you can adopt with resolution if you want to change your living experience to that of abundance regardless of what life throws at you.  Here are three steps to help you build your wealth consciousness:

  • Explore the origin of your beliefs about money

We develop beliefs from our own experiences and from what we repeatedly see around us from birth. Once you know this, ask yourself…

What did I learn about money while growing up? Was it always a cause of friction at home? Did I hear “we can’t afford it” often? Was money frequently lacking? Was having money seen as non-spiritual? Was I reprimanded when I asked for money, with statements like “don’t you know that money doesn’t grow on trees”? What opinions of wealthy people do I remember hearing? What were some of the adjectives used in my home and around me when talking about the rich?

  • Discover your attitudes about money

Realize that your present views and attitudes about money derive from your beliefs, and these beliefs were created by your life’s experiences. Thus, to discover your beliefs about money, you must dedicate time to remember some passages of your childhood and answer the questions above. Once you remember, write down your answers, here are a few more for you…

Do I believe money is a cause of conflict? Do I link money to dishonest, arrogant, shallow and selfish people? Do I handle it as dirty stuff? Do I feel materialistic and non-spiritual when I think of accumulating money? Do I believe having money will change me in a negative way? Do I believe I will lose my friends as a result of having money?

Once you have these two sets of answers on paper, analyze how these lists relate to each otherYou are very likely to see a pattern in which your attitudes relate to what you experienced in the past. Now, let’s dissect them one by one and explore the real truth in every statement you wrote.

  • Decide to modify your beliefs

As soon as you become aware of your attitudes and beliefs as well as the underlying cause of them, you will be in the best position to determine what beliefs are not serving you any longer. Consider that beliefs are not true or false intrinsically. It is you who gives them value according to your experiences.

From this point of awareness it’ll be much easier to change any belief, because once you know, you cannot pretend you don’t know. For instance, if you have always believed that to have money you must work like a slave, realize that there are many people who are wealthy and just work a few hours per week while spending most of their time on vacation or pursuing hobbies.

You don’t need to know them personally; just acknowledge the fact that working like a slave has nothing to do with accumulating wealth. This will help you debunk your old belief, as now you have brought this fact to awareness.

There are several resources to help you understand the meaning of true wealth and help you get rid of blocks so you can transform limiting beliefs into empowering beliefs, and acquire a wealth consciousness. I’m going to recommend two that I have used with excellent results.

The first one is EFT, a technique that has been used successfully to heal and change a variety of conditions, including the clearing of energy blocks and limiting beliefs.

A remarkable EFT wealth consciousness creation technique, is described in Dr. Carol Look‘s Attracting Abundance with EFT book and MP3 audio package. This is a hands-on system, meaning you will get to practice as you learn, which is the most effective way to acquire a new skill.

Dr. Look, an EFT Practitioner, Energy Healer and Psychotherapist has identified the 40 most common subconscious limiting beliefs about money.

In her book she guides you to properly use EFT to create a wealth consciousness with over 60 different EFT Exercises including hundreds of statements that you can pick and choose from to release blocks or limiting beliefs that prevent you from receiving wealth and joy in your life.

She also makes it fun with 8 Abundance Games to help you raise your vibration. The “Yes” game and “Thank You” game are especially powerful. And if you learn better through audio, the MP3 will provide you with the guidance to tap correctly using her affirmations for a successful outcome.

My second recommendation is a book that explains beautifully and clearly the meaning of true wealth and how it relates to money. Written by David Cameron Gikandi, “A Happy Pocket Full of Money” clears the many of the misconceptions that most of us acquired while growing up.

Be prepared to engage fully in this reading (or listen to the MP3) as it is comprised of 234 pages of pure wealth knowledge that will definitely help you question, clarify and shift your beliefs about wealth and money.

I’d venture to say that “A Happy Pocket Full of Money” is very likely one of the best books on money ever written, and I highly recommend you get your copy and dedicate time to study the concepts within. Just click on the book’s image to the right and get David’s book or audio MP3.

For optimal results, I suggest you get both. David will teach you the concepts related to wealth consciousness and money in detail. In my opinion this is a must; much like Wealth 101 to open your eyes to the possibilities.

Then, Dr. Carol Look’s ebook and MP3 files will guide you into releasing blocks that may be affecting your abundance flow. You get to download these files right after your purchase so you can start learning how to attract money in just a couple of minutes! Dr. Look will guide you to generate your own wealth with simple but very powerful EFT techniques.

You’ve heard it a million times. Success starts with your state of mind. Invest in these two great resources that offer a powerful combination for the creation of your wealth consciousness!

The Power of

In the winter of 2000, I experienced a series of coincidences in my life. Had these been random I would not have paid attention to them. However, they were happening so often and they were so obvious that it was impossible not to notice them. I was intrigued, so I decided to look deeply into their meaning and the relationship between them. I promise you’ll be fascinated at what I found and what happened next.

So there I was… set on a mission. My online searches and visits to the library increased, and one day I found this book by Carl Jung. I was so fascinated by the content I read, that I got compelled to study synchronicity more in depth.

Just as I was into this, a friend of mine who I hadn’t seen or heard from for a long, long time called me and invited me to a presentation at a nearby College. She said she was thinking about getting a Masters Degree in Humanistic Psychology and wanted my opinion. A couple of days later, we were sitting in the College’s conference room.

I was in total awe as I heard the speaker mention Carl Jung and his synchronicity concept… Wow! -I thought- Is this just another mundane coincidence or a meaningful synchronistic event?

Needless to say, I was hooked and wanted to keep going down the rabbit hole, so I joined the Masters Degree program right along with my friend. My life started changing rapidly. The more time I spent studying Carl Jung, the more synchronicities I noticed in my life. To be frank, at times it was kind of spooky!

Finally I was learning to “join the dots” and this allowed me to clearly notice and understand the events that had started showing up in my life way back in the winter of 2000. In a sense, I was feeling more awake…

If I was going to pinpoint one main thing that I learned as a result of this experience, is that I must strive to pay attention to little details, to be aware, to continue my search, to learn more about the things and events that happen in my life, before I consider them just a part of my wide (or wild?) imagination.

Are you still with me?

I’m sharing my story because I have come to realize that all of us have had synchronistic events in our lives, but not too many “pay attention” or stop long enough to notice them.

Do you?

Let’s back up a bit, just in case this is all new to you.

Carl Jung (1875-1961), a Swiss Psychiatrist was Sigmund Freud’s colleague. He broke away from Freudian psychoanalysis after disagreeing with Freud over his theory which concluded that the unconscious mind acts as a reservoir of repressed sexual trauma which gives origin to all neuroses.

Jung refused to accept this theory and founded his own school of Analytical Psychology. Jung was the first one to talk about synchronicity as a principle that explains meaningful coincidences. Synchronicity takes place when two or more unrelated events occur in such a manner that convey clear meaning to the person that experiences them.

Jung stated that these two occurrences are not causally connected, yet they have a common meaning. He refers to these events as “acausal” – that is, they have “no cause” but similar meaning by their coincidence in time appearance rather than sequentially. In conclusion, the events have to be related to one another but there is almost no possibility for them to have occurred randomly.

Confused yet?

Let me clarify this concept using my own experience above. First, I started noticing strange coincidences in my life. Then, I felt the impulse to explore them a bit more and bumped into information about synchronicity and Carl Jung. Next, I had not seen my friend for a long time. My friend calls me literally ‘out of the blue’ and invites me to the College presentation. The presentation ends up being about Carl Jung and synchronicity.
Can you notice the meaningful coincidences even though these events were not causally connected? My friend had no idea I had been exploring synchronicity, and neither she nor I had a clue that Carl Jung was going to be the main focus of the presentation!

And it gets even more interesting… Jung also believed that there is a synchronous connection between the mind and the phenomena of perception and delivered his psychoanalytic theory of the collective unconscious from which we draw information that is not grounded on personal experience. The content of this collective unconscious is passed from generation to generation and shared by all human beings.

The existence of this seemingly far-fetched collective unconscious concept has been considered as a possibility as scientists have not been able to pinpoint a specific brain structure where thoughts originate from.

Let’s analyze this theory a bit further. According to Jung the collective unconscious contains archetypes -an original model after which people are patterned- that make us behave according to psychological realities and experiences of humanity as a whole. In other words, we are not born with an empty unconscious mind, but with characteristics that are typical and universal to all human kind regardless of culture, race, time and origin.

To clarify this idea, here is a simple example… a smile. Human babies are not taught how to smile. They just do as they are born with this instinctive behavior which is a reaction in all of us through the collective unconscious.

And what do archetypes have to do with synchronicity?

Jung explained that when a person is passing through a life crisis one or more archetypes get activated inside the mind. This creates an access for the unconscious to flow into the conscious with the intention to find a solution to the problem through the awareness of deep truths normally hidden from the conscious mind. And… these are the moments when meaningful coincidences or synchronicities are more likely to happen.

In my case, I was ready for a change in careers but unsure about the path to follow (crisis). My friend’s sudden call and my curiosity to learn about meaningful coincidences (drawn from my observation of them), eventually awakened certain archetypes that propelled me to further my knowledge and get a degree in Humanistic Psychology (solution).

I believe that when we discover and use the power of synchronicity in our life, we gain the ability to solve our problems more intuitively and creatively. To me, synchronistic events are like signposts on the road of life that point us in a specific direction and increase our chances to attain the best possible outcome.

I invite you to become aware in noticing meaningful coincidences, to ponder about their possible meaning and connection, and to follow your instincts for a better life experience. Training your mind with neurovector can help you do just that!

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

~ Carl Jung

The Power to Heal is in Your Hands!

Reiki is a Japanese Healing Art based on ancient wisdom. From health to spiritual and financial abundance, Reiki can be used to create abundance in every aspect of life.

The word itself derives from two elements. ‘Rae’, which means Universal, and ‘Ki’ that refers to Life Force Energy, or that which gives us life.

Thus, we can refer to Rei-ki as The Universal Life Force Energy or the vital energy that we are connected to through breath.

Every time we breathe, we bring into ourselves this Universal Life Energy. It is also said that, Rae is the Universal Spirit (also called God or The Source) and Ki is manifestation of that spirit in all living creatures; however, it is important to mention that this healing art has no religious affiliation of any kind.

When we work with Reiki, we are working with the Spiritual Force or the energy that we all share, energy that lies within us and is available to us all.  As we work with Reiki our intention to balance the chakras or sacred energy centers from which all of our functions, integration and enlightenment spring from.

When the chakras are in balance we enjoy physical, emotional, and spiritual health. There are seven main chakras: crown, brow/third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral and base/root.

Each chakra represents one energy center that corresponds to nerve endings and ganglia that branch out from the spine. Furthermore, each center is associated with stages of development, archetypes, colors and sounds, physiological functions, mental awareness and states of consciousness, as well as other aspects of being.

Basic Characteristics of Every Chakra

Chakra Sanskrit Name Color Location Area of Influence
Muladhara Red Coccyx – Base of Spine Survival, Security, Responsibility
Svadisthana Orange Below the Navel – Lower Abdomen Feelings, Connectedness, Sexuality
Manipura Yellow Above the Navel – Stomach Power, Self-Confidence, Ego
Anahata Green Chest Relationships, Love, Acceptance
Visuddha Blue Throat Expression, Loyalty, Organization
Anja Indigo Between the eyes Intuition, Insight, Third eye
Sahasrara Violet Crown – Top of head Knowingness, Connection to Source

Reiki works in a comprehensive manner. It offers to empower and balance your chakra energy system as a whole to bring your body, mind, emotions, and spirit into harmony. We work with this energy in a non-judgmental, non-invasive, kind, and compassionate way by positioning our hands in specific places on or above the body (with or without touch) and with a focused intention to heal or make things better.

This healing therapy does NOT rely on physical manipulation like massage therapy, physiotherapy or chiropractic treatment. It doesn’t need drugs, medication or herbs for it to work either. Furthermore, there is no need for a diagnosis and unlike Allopathic Medicine, Reiki has not different treatments for specific ailments or diseases.

As you study this healing art, you will come across many different modalities. Last I heard there were over 40. This can be overwhelming and confusing, especially if you are just starting to get familiar with this healing art. Therefore, I suggest you stick to Usui Reiki as this is the one from which all those other modalities or practices have derived from.

The main focus of Reiki is on healing the energy patterns that may be disrupted or blocked. These blocks have caused the clogging -or closing- of our chakras which in turn have brought about unwanted signs and symptoms that are creating discomfort and disease. Our energy flow can get obstructed as a result of a variety of energy-snatching causes like negative experiences, worries, feelings, emotions, day to day stress, malnutrition, and even germs and pollution.

Thus, manipulating our energy will help us reestablish the balance in the energy flow within so we can live in harmony within our inner world and with our outer world.

Reiki therapy is totally harmless and has a wide range of uses. As mentioned above, there is no specific methodology for a muscle pain or a headache. And there is no special treatment for depression or anxiety either. The same form of Reiki can be used to heal any ailment and complaint because it focuses in healing the spirit as a whole and realigning the energy flow at its core.

This treatment helps reduce stress and apprehension; it lessens pain, relaxes, brings calmness to counteract the effects of a busy lifestyle, and creates a deep sense of peace, relaxation, and well being.

This healing art can be used on all living creatures -humans, animals and plants- as well as to “cure” disruptions in the energy field of the surrounding environment and even to clear the energy around your business. Yes, as amazing as this may sound, Reiki has also been used to create financial abundance. It aids in the removal of blocks that may be clogging up energy paths which prevent us from moving forward in business.

Another fascinating aspect of Reiki is that physical distance is irrelevantDistance healing can be performed to help those that are far away, and even to send peace to certain parts of the Globe.

The results of distant healing are not well understood, but it is believed that we share this life force through an invisible net that links us all; so when we are working with this powerful energy, we are directing the healing force through the net –so to speak- to a specific target and with a particular intention.

And for those of us who are more inclined to scientific data and research, did you know that Reiki has electrical and magnetic qualities that can be measured? This document by Bernadette Doran, BS, RMT, Director of Equilibrium Energy & Education, a wellness center in Chicago, will walk you through to the science behind Reiki and the irrefutable proof of magneto-biology which makes Reiki work. You are going to be fascinated by “The Science Behind Reiki“… a free download that will open your eyes to the possibilities!

To bring this all up to a simple definition, this healing art is a gentle, non-invasive, drug-free healing therapy that nurtures a sense of balance and harmony with the intention to heal the individual as a whole… the all encompassing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of being. Isn’t it awesome?

The power to heal ourselves and others lies in our hands… Literally!

for Your Personal Development

Been here before? Skip the intro and go directly to the techniques here.

If your dream was to excel in basketball, you’d have to learn certain techniques to take you to the level of excellence you’d want to achieve.

And if you wanted to become an expert at flying kites you’d have to master a few flying tips and maybe learn a bit about both Bernoulli’s principles and Newton’s 3rd law as valid principles of flight.

As such, most every new skill, task or endeavor will require some type of training based on techniques to get you ready to perform that particular skill. Once learned, practice and dedication will take you to the next level.

You can get as good as you want at anything!

It is no different with the mind. To deliberately create what you want, you must train your mind by learning the techniques that can help you manifest what you want the “right” way.

Either we realize it or not — and either we want it or not — we are constantly attracting experiences, people and even material things according to our state of mind. Most people go about trying to manipulate outside effects, without realizing that the cause of their circumstances is within. Therefore, attracting desirable conditions and experiences depends on your thought patterns and the behaviors and emotions linked to those thoughts. And the results you want can be achieved by learning (and practicing) certain techniques and tactics.

You’ll find in here sensitive information about the concrete methods that will help you align your thoughts and emotions according to what you want to manifest in your life. These techniques will become very helpful when you use them and put them to work often. Persevere and you will surely start experiencing the things you want to attract to your reality in no time at all.

So please… do not close your browser promising yourself that you will read or work on this later… most of the times we have good intentions but life gets in the way and we end up putting off what really matters.

If you truly want to see significant changes in your life, you must decide to start at once. There is no better time than now. Take a few minutes of your day and dedicate them to your personal growth. In time, you will be thankful for having done so as you’ll start seeing the results you yearn for in life.
