Benefits of Meditation

Benefits of Meditation

The benefits of meditation are constructive, healing, positive and countless. A multitude of studies have demonstrated that those who meditate on a regular basis have experienced a positive impact in their lives.

From reduced stress and pain management to increased immune response and decreased aging process; and from improved self-esteem, concentration and creativity to developing will power and higher intelligence, the benefits of meditation are truly innumerable. However, one of the most compelling reasons to practice meditation is that the process itself is uplifting and inspiring.

Meditation is not dependent upon the end result, but the act of meditation itself is a sublime and blissful one; an experience that transports yourself to a state of contentment and serene awareness during the practice of meditation itself, not just as a result at the end of the session.

Actually, from a philosophical viewpoint, the means equals the end result; thus, the meditation session has truly no beginning and no end.

As members of the human race, we all share a constant onslaught of stress on a day to day basis. This is the price we pay for living in a high paced world. We get bombarded by a variety of energies in the form of news, noise pollution, arguments, television programming, and disgruntled people.

In order to counteract this enormous and overwhelming force of negativity and distress, we must seek time to dedicate to ourselves, time to reconnect with our Higher Power, and to bring ourselves to balance. Meditation offers us a way to establish that connection to replenish our energy, relax our soul, cleanse our bodies, and realign ourselves with our true inner self.

In earlier times, people lived surrounded by nature in their daily routines and throughout their existence. Back then, there were no artificial sound vibrations from cars, telephones or machines; there was no stress caused by the rat race or disease resulting from the metropolitan industrial complexities that are part of our environment today.

On the contrary. There was the sound of water, the hum of the wind, the chirping of birds, the beauty of the stars at night, the warmth of sun rays, and the scent of flowers to name a few. There were natural tempos in every aspect of life, as people planted seeds, nurtured them into harvest, and as they observed the cycles of nature they felt a connection to Mother Earth.

Today, many people live their entire lives without even being aware of or contacting nature in a direct way. We live in artificially controlled climates, we eat pre-packaged foods, and we constantly are divorcing ourselves from our natural origins and our organic, original pace of life.

This is why the practice of meditation is rapidly becoming a necessity — more than an option.

Meditation allows us a simple, convenient, free and portable technique to enter into those lost natural rhythms and vibrations, by closing out the world around us temporarily as we let go of the sensations that the physical body perceives in daily life, and clear the mind of all the problems and artificial stress it has gathered knowingly or unknowingly during the course of life.

There is no doubt about it. The benefits of meditation are huge. It costs nothing, it has no harmful side effects, and it won’t add calories or cholesterol to your body either. Moreover, it’s impossible to meditate and be upset at the same time… how wonderful is that?

The human body is a complex and amazing creation.

Meditation provides an eminent sense of well-being, often compared to a natural “high”that is more powerful than those induced by artificial and harmful substances. This is because the brain produces natural drugs that are hundreds of times more potent than pharmaceutical narcotics.

As one meditates, the body secretes certain hormones and chemicals that provide an incredible rush of energy and happiness, and this is only one of the multiple amazing benefits of meditation. This fact alone is proof for some of the most significant benefits of meditation, which can be embraced for enlightenment and health.

Some people use meditation in place of, or in addition to, psychotherapy. Others find it most valuable as a tool to enhance sports or work performance, or to increase the memory and other mental or physical functions.

Yet others rely upon it to help them deal with grief or with the aftermath of trauma or tragedy, and to regain contentment and appreciation for life’s beauty. And there are those who use meditation as a creative tool to inspire them in the arts. Meditation gives us stronger and more sustainable vigor for sexual energy as well as serenity, as it provides a restfulness that is comparable to deep and exceptionally restful sleep.

There are countless reasons to meditate, what is yours?

Regardless of your personal reason, when you commit and dedicate some time out of your busy life to pause and drink from the mental oasis of meditation, you will be contributing to making our world a better and more peaceful and harmonious place for all.

Perhaps you think this is a bit exaggerated, but I assure you it is not. There have been many studies that have proven this. One such example is a recent experiment that took place at the Robert W. Coleman Elementary School in Baltimore. The results were amazing, to say the least. Instead of detention and punishing disruptive kids or sending them to the principal’s office, the Baltimore school has something called the Mindful Moment Room. I’ll let you read about this here. You’ll be amazed!

Now you see why I say that as you enjoy the benefits of meditation, you are helping the world!

Thank YOU for your contribution!

Mindfulness

Mindfulness

Have you ever felt like going through life following the motions, doing what you were supposed –or expected- to do, like an automated machine living outside or away of your true self?

I believe we all have felt this way to one degree or another. We suddenly become briefly aware of this every time we state things such as… “Where did time go?”… only to go back to our ingrained habits and usual routines short after this realization. This temporary awareness places us briefly in the present time, a momentary awakening that can be identified as a moment of mindfulness.

But before we delve deeper into exploring mindfulness, and just in case you are wondering why mindfulness should be adopted as a regular practice, just know for now that the practice of mindfulness is vital to live a well balanced and happy life.

Moreover, mindfulness is essential to practice meditation, and as we already know, meditation offers enormous benefits to our mental, emotional, and physical health. With that in mind, let’s continue…

The term mindfulness has its roots in Buddhism; however, it is not related to any particular faith but to the ideal state of the human beingMindfulness refers to the constancy of mind in the present moment. When you think of it, the present moment is all we truly have. The past is gone. The future is not here yet, and once it arrives, it becomes the present moment yet again.

Still, living in the present moment can prove quite a challenge for most of us living on today’s fast paced world. We tend to go through life dragging our past, and thinking of –or planning- a better future, usually dismissing the precious “now”

In fact, our ideal state as human beings is living in the present moment while keeping a balanced and healthy perspective between the now and future events. Buddhists call it “recollection” and it is used as a point of reference to return to focus every time the mind wanders away. This is one of the greatest challenges of the human mind. Have you thought about the fact that animals don’t experience anything else than the present moment?

A simple way to practice mindfulness is by watching one’s breath. When you focus on your breath you place your mind in the present time by paying attention to the air you breathe going in and out of your chest cavity. And while you maintain your attention on this function as your main objective, you must also remember to return back to focus when your mind wanders away.

In this manner, mindfulness means being aware of the present moment intentionally, and on a moment to moment basis while remembering what to do in the near future when/if your mind wanders away.

You can start practicing mindfulness by setting signals or indicators in your immediate environment that will prompt you to truly be in the present time even if for a few moments.

You can start doing this by committing to becoming aware of your self for a few seconds every time you see, hear, feel, taste, smell or do something that you have previously set your mind to.

For instance, every time you smell your morning coffee or hear a bird chirping or see a yellow car or whatever, you become centered in your present state for a few seconds.

And… how do you bring your attention to the present moment? -You may be wondering.

As stated above, an easy way to become aware of your present moment is by consciously observing your breath. Going with one of the examples mentioned, every time you hear a bird chirping, you take a few seconds to center yourself and observe your breathing.

When doing this, be aware of the fact that you are being conscious of your body’s breathing function, and you are noticing this with your mind while you keep engaged with your outer world. In this manner, you become fully aware of your being in and out at the same time. In other words, you acknowledge you’re inside your body as well as a part of the whole that surrounds you.

When you do this several times a day, you are actually training your mind to be in a state of mindfulness regularly. As you are able to hold these moments for longer periods of time, meditation will eventually become easier and you will be able to extend and sustain your meditative states.

Once you experience mindful moments habitually, you will start reaping the benefits of a more complete existence with less stress, more inner peace and more happiness.

Think about this… What if you could profoundly change your life just by becoming more mindful of your breathing? What if paying attention on purpose and non-judgmentally could help you improve your health?

On Mindfulness for Beginners, Dr. Kabat-Zinn, internationally known scientist, best-selling author, and teacher who brought mindfulness meditation into the mainstream of medicine and society gives you immediate access to a practice that can potentially add years to your life, and will certainly enhance the quality of your moments and your years.

Meditation

Meditation

It is well known that the practice of meditation can lead to a better quality of life.   However, many people don’t practice it due to the misconception that meditation takes years of study and practice, and that the goal is to empty the mind of thoughts, which can be extremely challenging for most of us.

Truth is, there is an easier way to meditate that is just as effective. The trick is not to fight your thoughts or trying to expel them completely from your mind, but to let them come and go, without judgment or criticism, without labels and emotions, and without allowing them to stay or get a hold of your mind… just observe them as they pop into your mind and let them go as you re-focus your attention on your breathing.

Yes, it takes practice to quiet the mind in this fashion; however, it is very possible, it can be done relatively fast and it is certainly much easier than becoming a Tibetan monk! 😉

Personally, I can tell you that practicing meditation has been wonderful for me. Besides helping me be more relaxed and centered on a regular basis, I have become more aware of my actions and reactions to life events and circumstances. This has helped me be more accepting of ‘what is‘ which has brought more peace to my daily life.

It is for this reason that I consider the practice of meditation a crucial part of personal development. First, I’ll share with you some facts and the basic benefits of this practice. Next, I’ll disclose the biggest challenge that prevents most people from starting -and sticking to- a meditation practice.

I’ll also give you a couple of suggestions to help yourself overcome this challenge if you recognize it in yourself.

And finally, I’ll also reveal how to start practicing meditation with ease so you too can experience these benefits in your life. Ready?

Let’s start by describing the health benefits of meditation. In time and with frequent practice, you’ll eventually reach a state of peace that seems to linger throughout the day. As a result, your heart rate and breathing pattern slow down, which in turn gets the oxygen you breathe more evenly distributed throughout your body. In turn, your muscles don’t feel tight anymore, your blood pressure levels improve, the production of cortisol (stress hormone) in the adrenal gland diminishes, and your mind gets clearer allowing for creativity and other abilities to flourish. Moreover, your immune system response improves so you get sick less often as your digestion improves. Also, you get a more positive outlook on life in general which helps you keep a positive attitude throughout the day.  And, you get this all by just practicing 15 to 20 minutes per day!

As these changes take place, your body starts repairing itself. This reduces physical, mental and emotional stress which enhances your life experience as a whole. This reason alone supports the daily practice of meditation; it should be a part of your daily life; just as important as eating and sleeping.

With all these benefits… how come most people do not practice meditation? It is due to this ‘challenge’ I was referring to earlier. Can you guess what it is?

Most of us lead busy lives. We have jobs, families, friends, events, deadlines, appointments, responsibilities, and so much more. It can be difficult to leave aside our daily obligations, concerns and on-going inner chatter even if for a few moments, and that is the biggest challenge of them all because if you don’t consciously decide to set aside 15 to 20 minutes a day to practice meditation, there is no program, book or training that will help. However, once you commit to doing so, the rest is much simpler.

You must know that you don’t need a class or a teacher to learn meditation. You can learn this practice easily over a short period of time, by yourself, in your spare time. All you need is an effective and simple program, plus your commitment and a bit of practice. An important factor is to be patient with yourself. There is no rush because the end result will be worth it. Once you accept that it will take you some time and practice to master meditation, your mind relaxes and it becomes easier.

While there are a variety of meditation techniques, they are all based on the same principles. Here are the recommended guidelines to start this practice.

    • Get some quiet time
It may look like a challenge, especially if you have a busy lifestyle and/or young children. A good way to start is by taking a look at your daily routine and look for a time span of 15 to 20 minutes that you can dedicate to yourself. Make it part of your daily routine and stick to it.
    • Choose a quiet place
This may be another challenge if you live in a busy city. For some, the early morning hours may work. For others, night time is better after the kids are asleep and the TV is off. Find some quiet place where you can be by yourself and with no interruptions for a few minutes.
    • Learn to quiet your mind
Easier said than done, but very doable. It becomes easier with time. Here is a trick that works: choose a small object –like a pendant- to focus on. Look at its shape, color, size, etc. Just focus on the object and let everything else go. Once you master this, it’ll be easier to close your eyes and relax your mind.Another method that works is to become the ‘observer of your thoughts.’ Just observe them and don’t get engaged in them. Do this every time you notice your thoughts creeping in. Do not fight them or become opinionated. Just watch the narrative going on in your mind as if you were watching a soap opera. Then, let go of the thoughts one by one as they appear.
    • Choose a comfortable position to meditate in
The sitting position called lotus is a common posture to meditate in. You sit on the floor with your legs crossed and place the right foot on top of your left tight and your left foot on top of your right tight. This position may be uncomfortable for beginners, so just sitting up with your spine stable and straight will work. Lying down is not recommended as you may fall asleep.
    • Focus in the “NOW” moment
Focus on the present moment and let everything go. This is not the time to think how to solve a problem with your obnoxious coworker, how to motivate the kids to do their chores, or how to best tackle your long to-do list for tomorrow. Give attention to this moment. Contemplate your “HERE.” This is your NOW. That is the only thing that IS. The rest is either in the past or in the future. Concentrate in your present -NOW.

As you practice meditation you will start experiencing wonderful results in your life. I suggest you include it in your daily routine as an integral part of your personal development plan.

Your energy levels and your ability to focus will soar. Your overall well-being will improve. Don’t despair if at first you don’t see any major changes. The important thing is to keep at it.

You will know you are making progress when you allow yourself to simply be, when you notice you are not judging your every thought and your mind quiets down instead of jumping from one thought to another. You will notice you are being aware of the present moment as you feel at peace throughout your day.

Your thoughts and emotions take a back seat.
There is a sense of inner freedom and peace, as you
are just living this moment NOW…

Vibrational Healing

Vibrational Healing

How to Raise Your Vibrations with Vibrational Sound Tools

One of the greatest discoveries of the modern days is that the Universe -and everything contained within- is energy. And as we learned in our science class, energy is not solid but made up of sub-microscopic particles in constant movement.

pianoVibrational Healing is one of the many interesting implications that rise from this fact. From inert objects to live creatures, every single thing in the Universe is vibrating …constantly. Unfortunately, our limited perception doesn’t allow us to see these vibrating particles with the naked eye due to their microscopic nature and the ultra fast rate at which they move. Thus, every object appears as solid when in fact, it is not. This is one of the greatest illusions of life.

From the macro-world to the micro-world, this simple fact has enormous implications on every aspect of existence as it contradicts universal laws that until quite recently were taken as solid truths.

Therefore, we are NOT independent individuals, but parts of a whole vibrational soup; we resonate with-in and with-out and as such, we affect our selves, our environment and each other as we go.

Just as the strings of a piano, if we were in sync with each other we would be able to perform a magnificent symphony. Think about it! In an ideal world, these vibrations would reverberate in unison complimenting each other for a well balanced and harmonious existence of all and for all.

For the purpose of this article, let’s focus on the micro-world, that which lies within each one of us and which applies to every system, organ and cell that forms every human body. After all, change starts within… always!

Perfect health is possible when we maintain an ideal rate of vibration. As such, it is safe to assume that -regardless of the aggressor- illness and disease develop from an alteration in vibration which disrupts the energy field and causes the imbalance.

Vibrational Healing is based on the belief that discord is present in the energy field long before it becomes a physiological problem. Thus, in order to restore health, vibrations must be brought to balance again; and in order to keep healthy, vibrations must be maintained high.

chakrasEastern Medicine therapies are based on the concept of chi balance.

Also, ancient Indian texts often refer to the human energy field as centers of power within. They explain how these energy centers correlate to the endocrine system and how this net of energy connections affects the physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual states of being.

Interesting Facts that Support Vibrational Healing

  • Dr. Otto Warburg, cancer researcher and 1931 Nobel Prize winner, discovered that human cells have an electrical voltage.
  • In 1992, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology built the first frequency monitor in the world. Tainio determined that the average frequency of the human body during the daytime is between 62 and 68 MHz. A healthy body frequency is 62-72 MHz. Megahertz (MHz) is the equivalent to one million oscillations per second. When the frequency drops, the immune system is compromised.
  • Bjorn Nordenstrom, a Swedish radiologist and author of “Biologically Closed Circuits” discovered that a cancer tumor could be dissolved by running a milliamp D.C. current through an electrode placed within the malignant tumor.
“If parts of the body become imbalanced, they may be healed
through projecting the proper and correct frequencies back into the body.”
~ Jonathan Goldman, author
“Healing Sounds: The Power of Harmonics”
  • Robert O. Becker, M.D., author of “The Body Electric: Electromagnetism and the Foundation of Life” says that the human body has an electrical frequency and that this frequency is intimately related to the state of a person’s health.
  • Royal Raymond Rife, M.D., developed a frequency generator to pass frequencies through an affected or diseased area in the body. He discovered that some frequencies can destroy disease, and others can prevent disease altogether!
  • Although still controversial, the human field energy may also be seen. Seymon Kirlian, a Russian amateur inventor and electrician, created a photographic process to see the human energy field or aura.

This sample of evidence supports the more recent Quantum Physics research: We are beings of energy.

Just as we have a system of arteries and veins throughout the body to collect and deliver nutrients in the blood from one part of the body to another, we also have energy paths that distribute energy throughout.

These are called meridians, and have become more known recently thanks to mainstream talk about reflexology, chakras, acupuncture and EFT.

When this flow of energy is moving uninterrupted and free of blocks, we are in a stable state of good health but, when blocks are present, energy accumulates in one area and creates lack in another. This causes a weak flow that derives in illness or dis-ease. Worse yet, much like a garden hose, if the blockage is severe and not corrected, the biological hose may rupture causing major problems.

Therefore, low energy levels translate into poor health, but keeping vibration in sync may be a challenge for those with rushed lifestyles as they face stress and other external aggressors constantly. No wonder society in general is sicker than ever, despite the numerous medical advancements!

Vibrational Healing can help restore the proper energy flow for optimal health and performance; and one of the great advantages of Vibrational Healing is that it seems to have no negative side effects. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Let’s go a step further and connect a few more dots.

at_the_edge1By now, you have most likely become aware of the obvious relationship between Vibrational Healing and manifesting our desires. After all, the law of attraction literature is always advising to raise one’s vibrations.

This is because good things have a high vibration, so when you resonate with that you are able to manifest and attract what you want, health included! But the question remains… what exactly are you to do to raise your vibrational state?

There are many ways in which you can raise your vibrations.

Visualizationaffirmations and meditation are all valid Vibrational Healing techniques that can aid in raising your vibes. However, it is my belief that a more comprehensive approach works best to increase vibrations on a regular basis.

hands-on approach to Vibrational Healing should include movement and sound therapy. Here are a couple of suggestions…

Ancient practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Kung are a great starting point. These guide you through a series of movements that facilitate and open up the flow of energy through the meridian points, providing vibratory balance to your system as a whole.

These practices offer additional benefits, such as strength and flexibility, improvement of breathing, oxygenation and blood flow, stress reduction, centeredness facilitation, connecting of mind and body to create serenity, and awakening one’s potential, to name a few.

A lesser known practice to increase one’s vibes takes place by engaging the sense of audition. This Vibrational Healing can be done with tuning forks.

These tools are used to change your inner tuning by creating the right resonance that aligns your body, mind and spirit. This is done by creating a vortex of sound that leads to a still point. From that moment of stillness, the body can re-tune itself using the fork sound vibration. It is the nervous system that initiates the re-tuning as it starts vibrating to the sound of the tuning forks.

Sounds like complicated science, I know, but fortunately it is easier than that and very, VERY powerful. You do not need to go to a special practitioner, nor do you need to have the trained ears of a musician for tuning musical instruments.

And now you can learn to listen to your own nervous system which is the mirror of your own internal resonance. From there, you will easily go to align your vibrations by using the tuning forks. For more information, please click on the banner below…

Brainwave Entrainment CDs

Everybody in the world of self-development agrees on one simple thing… Meditation is good for us!

And I agree. The benefits are truly enormous: improved mind power, increased IQ levels, greater energy, better overall well-being, self-enlightenment, less sleep hours required, greater peace and clarity of mind, lower stress levels, and much more.

But how many of us REALLY indulge in a strict meditation schedule? Truly. Think about the fact that if you want the greatest benefit you must practice meditation religiously and for extended periods of time. Now, in all honesty, in the modern world, most of us just don’t have the TIME. Until now, that is.

brainev_sm

Most of us have heard about brainwave entrainment CDs for meditation. The best known example is perhaps the Holosync tehcnique.

Brainwave entrainment CDs for meditation basically contain specially-created sounds called Binaural Beats. When listened to with headphones, these sounds help to influence your brainwaves – a process known as “brainwave entrainment”, or synchronization of your brain waves. The binaural sounds basically lower the frequency of your brainwaves – a similar state achieved by those people who have years of meditation practice.

By listening to these brainwave entrainment CDs every day, you can begin enjoying the many great benefits of meditation – yet without the need for many years of strict practice.

Some call it meditation for cheaters. I believe the means are justified if what we seek is the benefits of a better life experience. What do you think?

The problem, however, is that even though the science behind the technology is infallible, not all brainwave entrainment CDs for meditation are created in the same way, so many simply do not work.

I’ve tried several; some have worked, some have been a waste of time. And then there was one that did work for me but required at least one hour of listening per day and the cost was prohibitive for many. Others only employ one mode of brainwave entrainment – a fatal error in the world of brainwave technology.

But among them all, there’s one diamond that has stood out above the crowd… It’s called theBrain Evolution System – or BrainEv System – and it’s been causing waves in the industry since it’s launch back in 2006.

brain-gym

BrainEv brings about all the benefits of true meditation: greater energy, increased IQ, emotional mastery, sharper thinking, heightened creativity, better relationships, improved memory, less required sleep, greater relaxation levels. And it does it without the shortcomings of its competitors.

The BrainEv System is composed of 6 CDs that contain perhaps the most beautiful audio recordings the self-development world has ever heard. It only requires 30 minutes of listening each day, which you can do as you fall asleep (like I do), or by waking up 30 minutes earlier than normal (so it doesn’t impact on your life or daily schedule.)

Moreover, you only need to listen to the BrainEv System 6 times a week. The entire program also costs just a fraction of its competitors.

Most importantly, BrainEv has proven itself the most technically superior product on the market.

The BrainEv System employs something known as “3P DEAP” technology, intertwining three different methods of brainwave entrainment together, to produce truly industry-pioneering results. That essentially guarantees you’ll experience the most profound benefits around, such as a boost in your mind power, full body relaxation, enhanced creativity, and greater energy levels.

In short, my experience has found only one true leader in the world of meditation using brainwave entrainment CDs, and it is quite simply: The BrainEv System.

It stands head and shoulders above the rest – and truly delivers the most powerful benefits of meditation, usually within days of starting the program. It’ll revolutionize your life – and help you enjoy the advantages of what would usually take years of strict, daily practice to achieve.

So I’ll let you decide… Is BrainEv cheating? Possibly. But, trust me: this is one sneaky little shortcut I’m sticking with!

Brainwave Entrainment

What is Brainwave Entrainment?

To better understand brainwave entrainment (BWE), it’s necessary to learn a bit about our brain and its brainwaves.

Our brain is an electro-chemical organ and as such, electromagnetic impulses and chemical substances regulate its functions. Endorphins, adrenaline and serotonin are some of those chemicals, but for the purpose of this article let’s concentrate in the electromagnetic impulses or brainwaves.

Our brain activity encompasses four different types of waves: Beta, Alpha, Delta and Theta, which in that order represent the range from the most to the least activity. Let’s explore them in more depth.

Beta Waves

They are present when the brain is actively engaged in a specific activity or set of activities. They occur when we are awake, at work, watching, talking, doing, studying, listening, touching, tasting, learning, and thinking. Mainly, our analytic, logical, left brain is at work. A teacher, a public speaker, a car racer, and a person engaged in an argument would all be in beta wave state. These waves are low in amplitude with ranges between 13 to 30 cycles per second. These are the fastest of the four brain waves.

Alpha Waves

These represent the opposite to beta waves. These happen when we are inactive, sluggish, calm, or not aroused. These waves are higher in amplitude with ranges between 8 and 12 cycles per second; thus, they are slower than beta waves. A person in a relaxed state, meditating, gazing at the horizon or taking a walk at the beach is in alpha state.

brainwavedimTheta Waves

These have much lower frequency and even greater amplitude with ranges between 4 and 7 cycles per second. Do you daydream often? Have you ever got into your car and drove to your destination without remembering what road you took? If so, you were in theta wave state.

You are very relaxed but you can become alert in a fraction of a second if necessary. For instance, if the car in front of you stops abruptly; you react accordingly going to beta wave state immediately.

In theta brain wave state, ideas and aha! moments seem to flow freely, without guilt, judgment or restrictions. This seems to take place when certain tasks become so automatic that our brain disengages from them to dedicate fully to creative and automatic thinking. Our artistic, imaginative right brain is activated when this happens.

Let’s say that you have spent countless hours trying to come up with the perfect solution for a problem to no avail. Then, out of nowhere a wonderful idea to resolve that situation pops into your mind while taking a shower. If this has happened to you, now you know that your theta brain waves were at work.

Delta Waves

These are of the greatest amplitude with ranges between 1 to 3 cycles per second. Their frequency is the slowest of all brain waves. Every night we go through the sequence of beta, alpha, theta and finally, delta wave state when we reach deep sleep. At this state our brain wave cycles are between 2 to 3 per second.

In healthy sleep patterns, our brain waves oscillate between delta and theta cycles all throughout the night. When delta waves increase above 4 cycles per second, we enter the theta wave state where REM (rapid eye movement) and active dreaming take place, only to slow down and fall to delta brain wave again after a few minutes.

The same process occurs in the morning, just in the opposite direction. We go from delta or theta into alpha and beta to become fully awake and ready to perform our daily tasks.

All four brain waves are present simultaneously in all human brains at all times; however, one of them becomes predominant at any specific moment according to the activity at hand.

There is a fifth type of brainwave called the Gamma Wave. Most researchers consider them a part of the Beta Waves which is why we don’t hear about these often. Gamma Waves are present when we experience acute perception, sharp focus and concentration, and while performing higher level cognitive activities in states of total consciousness. Thus, they have been linked to higher thinking and reasoning abilities. Their range is of 31 cycles and above per second.

Brainwave Entrainment (or BWE) is a practice in which sound pulses are used to synchronize the brain waves into a desired frequency. It is based on a technology known as binaural beats.

In the brainwave entrainment practice, each brain hemisphere is targeted individually by sending different sounds through each ear utilizing stereo headphones. The brain responds by adjusting the sound between the two tones and synchronizing the two hemispheres naturally with the beat frequencies. Most of the time, this happens within a few minutes.

Let’s say that your right ear receives a sound at 410 Hz and the left one at 420 Hz. Your brain will balance the signal to the point that both hemispheres are operating in unison. In this example, your brain waves would oscillate at 10 Hz (the difference between 420 and 410 Hz) inducing the very relaxed state known as alpha, as explained above.

This state can also be achieved with hypnosis. In alpha state we are highly receptive to suggestions.

Also, it is possible to induce mixed brain waves of different frequencies by utilizing mixed binaural tones in BWE. This can produce quite unusual states such as out-of-body experiences, and other altered states of consciousness.

The Monroe Institute founded by Robert Monroe in the early 70’s, is a non-profit educational and research organization dedicated to the exploration of human consciousness and brainwave entrainment.

Hemi-Synch (short term for Hemispheric Synchronization) is a technology developed by Robert Monroe to synchronize the two hemispheres of the brain (BWE) with the intention to induce certain pre-determined effects.

The BrainEv System is based on Monroe’s findings. It stimulates the creation of new neural pathways between the right and left hemispheres, balancing the brain which leads to a high-performance state that scientists call “whole brain functioning.” You can try brainwave entrainment by requesting a Free Demo at the BrainEv System website.

Years of research have concluded that by altering the human brain waves with sound beats utilizing BWE, brain activity can be changed which directly affects the emotional and mental states. Brainwave entrainment can be done with a definite purpose to improve, modify or adopt a specific behavior, and even heal an array of conditions.

For instance, people who suffer from insomnia can benefit by entraining their brain to the theta state. Children with attention deficit disorder and people that have difficulty with concentration can benefit from brainwave entrainment by synchronizing to their alpha state, a very receptive state for learning.

Brainwave Entrainment has also been used to alleviate allergies, improve memory and imagination, increase self-confidence and self-esteem, strengthen the immune system response, eliminate fears and phobias, and even to lower blood pressure, amongst many other conditions.

These are just some of the reasons why many consider Brainwave Entrainment as the ultimate self improvement tool.

I invite you to learn all about BWE’s latest technology and to discover how it can help you achieve your goals by “just listening”. Just click on the banner below and request your Free Demo NOW.

Vision Boards

Create a Vision Board!

It’s time to get creative!

You might have heard of vision boards in the movie titled “The Secret.” A vision board is a powerful manifesting tool because it is based on the premise that every project of value must have a vision. If you believe that your life is a project of value -and every life is- then, you can greatly benefit from a vision board.

tree_collageA vision board is a tool that allows you to bring to life — so to speak — what you’d want your future to be like. It does this in a graphic way that has a high impact on your emotions, and it concentrates it all in one place. This will help you see your dreams and goals in a more tangible way.

It will also help you regain focus when the going gets though, and when you are feeling discouraged for one reason or another. It will remind you of your dreams and your WHY; the reason you are pursuing your goals.

In this manner, a vision board is like your treasure map!

The power to fulfill your dreams starts with one simple step… your ability to represent those dreams in YOUR own collage. Don’t disregard this step as a silly thing meant only for kids. This is a powerful tool and you should dedicate some time to creating it. It’s been proven to work time and again.

It is a well-known fact that our subconscious mind responds better and faster to pictures than words. This is one of the reasons that vision boards work. Imagine this tool as your own energy vortex which instructs your subconscious mind on exactly what you want so it goes to work on your behalf and figures out a way to get what you want!

This will manifest itself in the form of ideas that pop into your mind — seemingly out of nowhere — or serendipitous events where you’ll happen to meet the right person, at the right time, for the right reason or project… it is truly magical, or what some might call luck.

And the good news is that creating your vision board needs not to be a complex endeavor. What you need before you start is a visualization session (or a few) in which you are going to determine with as much detail as possible whatever you want in your life. You are going to see this first in your mind. Picture in your imagination what is it that will make you feel fulfilled and completely happy. Take as much time as you need for this, days even, as it is the most important first step. Then, you are to jot down every thing that comes to mind and makes you feel excited in anticipation – whatever it is!

Once your list of dreams, goals, and mind images get clear, you’re going to explore a few options to create your vision board. You can either do it yourself or you can use an online tool for a more “live” experience. Let’s explore both.

If you do it yourself, you’re going to need a pile of magazines, a glue stick, scissors, colorful markers, and a large notebook or poster board. Set aside 45 minutes to two hours to create your vision board. Enjoy the process as if you were a child again.

Start by flipping the magazines and look for any images that resemble what you pictured in your mind during thehouse_collage visualization exercise you’ve been practicing. Also, go through your notes to assert your dreams and goals. It’s important to choose pictures that resonate with you emotionally rather than rationally. Once you have enough pictures, cut them in nice shapes and start assembling them in a visually appealing way that you like.

Move the images around to see what feels right before you glue them permanently. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Play with it and see what catches your eye. Allow your feelings to guide you. Once you glue your images, use your markers to write concepts, words or quotes that relate to the pictures you chose. Use your previous notes as a guide to do this.

Draw images like flowers, hearts, smileys, whatever you like. Use the markers to brighten your board; write motivating words between the pictures; and let your creative juices flowing freely. Once you like the way it looks, you may choose to frame it or hang it in a prominent place in your home or office, where you can see it frequently. You’ll be referring to it often as a motivator and as you move throughout the steps that will take you to the realization of your dreams and ideal life… and don’t be surprised if you see your vision board coming to life as you go!

Your second and -in my opinion- THE BEST option is to use an electronic version of a vision board for which you’ll need either a piece of software or an online tool. There are several options in the market. Look for one that is user-friendly, short learning curve, and above it all, that is fun to use. Here are the reasons why I like this option better…

  • Quick and easy to put together (Don’t like it? Change it in a bliss!)
  • No special tech skills
  • More fun to create
  • Lots of pictures to choose from
  • MUSIC!! Add your favorite songs to it
  • Utilizes more of your senses (more effective!)
  • Awakens your feelings as it is live
  • IMPORTANT: You can change it with ease as your goals change
  • Just hit play every day and ENJOY!

An online tool not only makes the process easier but more fun and enjoyable. It is also likely to be more effective as it engages not only your vision, but your hearing sense too! We all know that music is a powerful motivator – especially the kind of music that moves us.

More importantly, a digital version of a vision board will add dimension to your experience, as it stimulates feelings and emotions needed to get rid of old beliefs that no longer serve you, and to induce the reprogramming of your subconscious mind.  This means that it is very likely that you will experience more intense and faster results!

Whatever option you choose, I highly recommend you create your own vision board at once. It has the power to transform your life experience!

Once you create it, dedicate just a few moments to focus on it every day, especially as you awake in the morning and right before you go to sleep. In the morning it will motivate you and help you start your day with optimism and positive expectation. And at night, it will help reprogram your subconscious mind right before you fall asleep.

You don’t need a lot of time either. Just like exercise, consistency is more important than long periods of gazing once in awhile. This is not daydreaming either. As you focus on your board, KNOW that those things are on their way to you.

Commit to just 10 to 20 minutes of daily visualization using your board. It will keep your focus and motivation going, and you will start manifesting your desires in no time at all!

Should you decide to go with the digital format, I highly recommend you take a look at the Mind Movies 2.1 software. It is without a doubt the most complete and the easiest program I have ever seen and used. Click on the banner below and watch the video presentation to learn what this system includes – you are going to love the options it gives you as well as the simplicity of use, guaranteed!

Enjoy!!
