When I first heard about crystal healing, I was skeptical to say the least. After all, I had been trained into Western Medicine, so I disregarded it as pseudoscience. Years later, I came across information that has opened my mind to the possibilities especially when it comes to this kind of alternative healing. I’d like to share with you what I’ve learned about the crystal healing technique as well as its benefits.
Crystals, gems and stones are natural formations. They hold different energy vibrations according to size, color and type. Ancient cultures used crystals in healing practices for a variety of ailments and conditions.
Crystals are used to this day as a non-invasive therapeutic technique by using their natural properties to balance polarities and raise vibrations with the purpose of harmonizing the state within the mind, body, and soul.
It is due to their unique structure that each crystal resonates at a different frequency and has the power to alter frequencies within the body’s organs and structures. When placed above the body, a crystal’s frequency can help restore balance and bring stability to the body’s energy system. This facilitates the awakening of our healing abilities from within.
In his book titled “Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior“, Dr. David Hawkins talks about how consciousness can be measured in a scale from 1 to 1000. While Dr. Hawkins didn’t create his “Map of Enlightenment” for healing purposes, he clearly states that the higher up the scale a person is, the more mastery of life is achieved; therefore, ultimate happiness and bliss are achieved at a higher vibration and consequently, health can also be attained moving up this scale, as a person cannot live in total happiness unless he(she) is healthy.
The interesting point here is that energy and vibrations have been the cause of studies for many years, and the conclusions are similar in nature: In order to live a healthy and balanced life, the energy must be maintained at high vibration. Apparently, crystals can help raise a person’s vibrations and as such, restore the energy necessary to recover health.
The crystal healing methodology is practiced by placing various types of crystals on different parts of the body that correspond to the chakras in order to generate an “Energy Grid“. The crystals used are chosen by the practitioner according to their properties and colors, and depending on the patient’s condition. Then, they are placed over or swept over specific points through the body alongside the spine and forehead.
Many crystals are made available for healing. Some of them include: Amethyst, Ametrine, Angelite , Beryl, Bloodstone, Blue lace agate, Calcite, Charoite, Copal, Copper, Dolomite, Jade, Jasper, Sulphur, Tiger eye, Zircon, Quartz, Labradorite, Opal, Pyrite, Tourmaline, Vivianite, and many others.
The benefits of healing using crystals are numerous. For instance, amethyst and amber can be used to heal headaches because their frequency is that of peace.
Moonstone can be used for an upset stomach and red, orange and yellow crystals can be used to restore energy.
If you pay close attention, you will see that the ailments, gemstone colors and chakras are interrelated. For instance, the base chakra or Muladhara is represented with the color red, so crystals of this color bring the jolt in energy necessary for grounding and stability, which is what this chakra represents. However, since the human body is complex, there are several factors that must be considered, such as the cause of the sickness or imbalance, as well as the degree or intensity of it.
Crystal healing can work beautifully to free the body from stress, and -in many cases- when relaxation is achieved, the side benefit can also release physical pains and aches. Crystals are also used to absorb negative energies that can derive from depression and anxiety, as well as disrupted energies in a home where conflict arises often.
As you have seen, a treatment with crystals is as unique as every person or situation, and must be determined based of the individual’s specific issues and circumstances. As natural elements of Mother Nature, an amazing feature of crystals is that they have the ability to hold on to energy and create specific vibrations continuously. For this reason, crystal healing goes beyond a few sessions with a practitioner. Crystals can be worn daily according to your needs and as you go about your life. One example of this that can help reduce mental stress is wearing a jade in a necklace. The shade of green in a jade crystal calms the nervous system and helps you focus the mind.
